Ok, a bit different. The spring looks like it goes at the pedal. Kinda hard to tell from the pic if the shackle goes on top or bottom. It appears that you would pin the band at the bottoms holes on the bracket. I would try pinning the bottom hole (out of the two closer together, furthest left in the pic) on the brake arm to the top holes in the bracket, then pin the top of the band to the middle hole, then the shackle/cable to the top hole of the arm.

Problem solved. The band was the wrong one for this kart. I put the old one back on and everything lined up nicely. Still need a new on but this one did not work.

If you can, post up a pic of it all back together. That way if someone searches for the same or similar issue, they can see the fix.

I know this is an old thread. But Does anyone know where to buy that brake lever. I got one for free but it was missing those break parts.

Carter has been out of business for some time. Finding parts for it is unlikely. You'll probably have to fabricate one or upgrade the complete braking system.

Pffft, this thread is hardly old. It’s not 1 year old or even 6 months. Anyway....

Most go kart brake parts, bands and drums are generic/universal and are still available.
Are you looking for part #317 from the parts manual or what is seen in Damato’s 3rd photo?

I Looked at the wrong date. haha.
Yes I'm looking for part #317 and possibly the spring. If i cant find it online. I could make it much easier if someone would share the dimensions of it.

That's what I was thinking.

Send a PM to Damato and see if he can give you the dimensions or trace it on a piece of paper and mail it to you.
