SO I went to my fav site ( Craigslist ) LOL and bought another bike
in better condition than my first but i cant seem to keep it running. I can get it to start if I spray some starter fluid in it but then it dies. I took the carb off and cleaned it and soaked it in some gas for a few hours before cleaning it. But I still cant seem to keep it running. any ideas? i'm stumped. ( doesn't take much) LOL

No magneto....no spark plug problem. ...carb is still dirty...as Birdfanatic said. ...you need to poke the small holes. .....

EDIT:....And get some carb cleaner or boil in lemon juice. ...soaking in gas does nothing. ....

It's always good to have extra "known to be working" parts laying around. I got spare clone carbs, and pz19 carbs for atv/dirt bike engines up to 110cc. I have 1 spare pz26 for bigger engines, 125cc-200cc, but it's jet is a hair small for proper function on a 200cc. (it will still crank and run one, you just won't get the best performance out of it.... Like with a pz28 or pz30..... )

So i did the whole boil it in lemon juice thing, cleaned it and put it back together. Still no dice. Since I am press for time ( I am taking them on a camping trip in a few weeks) Has anybody had any experience good or bad on these 20.00 carb from ebay vs the 46.00 one from ombwarehouse? I saw a rebuild kit for one on ebay for 20.00 but it the 20.00 car works well why waist the time. Just a thought. Thanks for all the input today.

:wai: Standard type engine, does not get it. Like the man ask, what engine. Therefore we will know what type carb you are working on. An then we can probally help you you.

If ALL you did was soak in lemon juice, then you failed. :mad2:
You need to take out the main jet and clean it. The emulsion tube also. The idle jet too.... Just soaking it ain't gonna work... You need to be able to blow through all the jets to make sure they're clear. And the fuel circuits.... Fuel in..... Fuel out......

Ok thanks I didnt know there was more than one motor type. I bought 2 bikes at different times and they were the same motor so I assumed....... that what i get for assuming .... my bad.
http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mn...gi?081213/6514 is the type that I have.

I'm thinking about ordering this carb http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-BAJA-H...227?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23342e32b3

SO I can stop assuming, how can I figure out if I have the mb165 or the mb200 ? for ordering a carb. on the omb site there are 2 different part numbers 1- for the 165 and 1- for the 200? So confused.

Honestly jim all I did was boil it in 100% lemon juice. Then rinse it out with water and dried it with the air compressor. I honestly dont have the time to take it apart. See Im a truck driver and only home 3-4 days a month so my todo list long and hairy when I get home. So I rather just order a new one and swap it out. Because the next time I come home we are leaving on our fall camping trip as soon as I get home. and I can change the carb out at the camp ground.

It only takes about 5 minutes to break down a carb and clean it properly get some torch tip cleaners I find they work the best and clean out every jet problem solved.

:wai: You have to be careful when using torch cleaners. You can over size the jets in a hurry. Best bet is to use a fine wire.

well for time constraints ( and I was already there ) I just picked up a harbor freight engine and slapped it in. runs great. Now the only prob I have is like others in this situation. no headlights. I will figure something out.
