HI

I have a predator 212cc engine om a yerf dog 30034 with governor removed and performance air filter. I disabled the oil sensor on the engine so I can drift and the like but now oil spews out of the carb. Are there any solutions other than not drifting because I can't agree to that!

Thanks
Isaac

Thats not an oil leak, Its Horse power sweat!
JK but disabling the low oil sensor is something we ALL do. Should have nothing to do with oil in the Carb.
but I personally do not know what to tell you about oil in the carb, other than did you overfill the oil trying to stop the oil switch from shutting off prior to disconnecting it?

The oil is only at the half way mark on the dip stick so it should be fine. It's as if the oil spills into the carb on a sharp turn and enters the air filter then spatters everywhere it even got on the back of my seat.

Thanks

That was my only other thought. Inside the valve cover there is a one way flapper. I saw a guy where his fell off inside. Allowing oil to spew into the Carb. but Clearly that is not your problem.
HMMMM
anyone else got an idea?

Did the oil pour out or shoot out of the ohv. If it was shooting out that could be my problem. However I'm almost 90% sure it coming out of the carb cuz it's a mess inside the carb.

The breather tube feeding back into the carburetor is an emissions feature meant to burn up escaping crankcase gases and vapors, etc., that might otherwise pollute the environment if left unchecked. However, this system operating in a faulty manner in which the OP is hinting at certainly seems detrimental to the carb. In fact any waste redirected back into the engine, as simplified and vulnerable as they are, seems like a bad idea.

I guess I'll be looking into the same deal--a filter on the end of the tube and venting to the atmosphere. I've seen other people do it too, just never thought much of it.

I always just put a small filter on that vent tube and allow it to vent to atmosphere.
But I think Isaac said it was NOT in fact hooked into the Carb air filter.
Please post a pic. Cause This makes no sense:
"It's as if the oil spills into the carb on a sharp turn and enters the air filter then spatters everywhere it even got on the back of my seat."

The air filter would be sucking, Not spattering oil as far as your seat???

So im not diagnosing your problem, but it sure looks like to me that your valve cover needs a breather tube routed to a catch can or routed downward to spew oil not on the carb. All the oil looks like it is coming from the outside of the carb?
I mean, doesn't it make sense that the outside is coated in oil and the valve breather hole is just chilling right there pointed directly at it?

The inside of the carb sure looks like it has not seen an air filter. But it sounds like you have a filter on it? please keep in mind that the cloth style washable high flow filters NEED TO BE OILED or they will just let in tons of dirt, which I also think is another problem you are having. Pre-filter or not, those cloth high flow filters need to be oiled.

Here are a few links for what I would add to your collection

clean your engine/oil off with this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GUNK-EB1CA-...:g:z3AAAOSwQaJXROgo&item=381587631936&vxp=mtr

use this to oil and clean your air filter
http://www.ebay.com/itm/K-N-99-5000...ash=item4176a1ac88:g:AvkAAOxybetR~sMV&vxp=mtr

google your particular aif filter and get a a 'filter wrap' for it if you are driving it in dusty conditions.

If its an "UNI" style foam filter, you will need to look into seeing if it needs oil or not. I'm not sure.

Next, I would get these things
1) 1/4" hose to put on yoru valve cover to route it downward and away from engine and carb, or to a catch can
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-1-4-ID-...ash=item236bdfbef1:g:3C0AAOSw-4BXZE5j&vxp=mtr

2) buy these hose clamps or similar to actually secure your line so it wont fall off like your filter did. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-fuel-li...945352?hash=item46352e6b88:g:aLgAAOSwDuJWwe6y

These are just ideas to get you thinking.

Ok sounds more like this^^^^^ is the problem. There should be a one way flapper in the OHV valve cover. I have seen this once before. Oil should not leak out like that. I think the flapper may have fallen off. Carefully pull the valve cover and check. I said carefully cause you do not want to ruin the gasket.
Remember in the stock configuration that valve cover has a hose to the air cleaner, and there is NO WAY that much oil would be "ok" dumping into the stock air box.
Also, nice intake I just ordered the exact one on Saturday. Keep this in mind. GoPowerSports.com has a 10% off for our Forum enter code DIYGOKARTS at checkout.
