I'm sorry to hear of your plight. Hang tough and good luck. I'm about to start my 5th year of no employment.
Here is what I did/am doing. Maybe it will give you some ideas.
Start a business. Whatever you're good at print cards and go door to door at businesses that might need your services. I have 12 customers now. It doesn't pay the bills but it eases the pain.
Scrapping. There are two metal recyclers that pay "okay" for scrap weight for metals. On trash night I drive around collecting appliances onto my car trailer and haul 'em in. Good for a couple of hundred a load if you have a good night. Just watch the gas because driving around aimlessly wastes gas and reduces what you put in your pocket.
You have a 'burban. Haul and tow stuff for money. $1 a mile if it's a big thing you're hauling.
Handyman stuff for neighbors, friends of neighbors, etc.
Fix cars for people in their driveway. People seem to like that.
It's leaf season in most of the USA. If leaves are falling in your area, mow 'em with a bagging mower if you have one and dump the fine particles in your trailer to dump.
Snowplow season is coming also, but not sure if that's viable in NC.
Good luck man.
