I am looking to modify a minibike to make it so it can go on atv trails, i was thinking of putting a stage 2 modified predetor 212 and a nice torque converter on it. What minibike would work well to start on for this build? Also what else,if anything, should i do to it to make it trail ready ?
Thanks- Joe

Something with front and rear suspension would be nice.
If not, then something with Big bouncy tires to cushion the ride.
But not too big where gearing becomes an issue.
Probably Fenders.
Decent ground clearance.
And with a TC.

Trailmaster MB200-2
That rear tire is screaming for a bigger sprocket.

Some places will require a spark arrestor muffler too.
The OffRoad Park I went to requires it, but never checked.
Something to consider if using a modified engine.

Yeah thanks i'll look into that, the place where i go usually has people ripping their banshees really loud, so muffler shouldn't be and issue.

SSShhhhh! I just ordered the girls on Tuesday a Trailmaster MB200-2 for Christmas! I can't wait to give it to them!:D With the Black Friday discount $806.55 from Gokarts USA. Seems like the best bang for the buck.

I sure do miss the offroad park. Nothing like bruising a rib getting bucked off a no-suspension minibike while all the dirtbike guys are watching. Or trying to make it through deep loose gravel with 4" clearance. Or wondering where your cracked exhaust pipe ran off to after you laid the bike down.

Oh the Joy!!!

Give me an update once they take it out.
It says it has a TC, 38T #420 Rear sprocket and 19" Tires.

Assuming best case scenario... 8T Front Sprocket, 7" Driven Pulley...

That is a 5.32:1 Gear Ratio in top gear.

At 3600 RPM, that is 38 mph.

If a 10 T sprocket and 6" Driven Pulley...

Then the top gear ratio is 3.42:1.

At 3600 RPM, 59 mph.

It says top speed is 25mph.
What am I missing?

Government Man, the top speed is 25mph. Now move along, nothing to see here.
I really want this for off-road.
I have the El Lobo for street use.
Then maybe a Nitro-50 drag bike for the blower engine.

I went for a little ride today on some paved back roads and was very surprised to hit 50 mph GPS going down a hill that wasn't very steep at all. Easily can hit 40 mph on the flats and I weigh ~210lbs. These have a 38t rear sprocket and can really move. MB200-2 websites claim a top speed of ~24 mph, but I'm not sure where they came up with that number. You'll blow by that figure in seconds on this bike. I'm thinking of hooking up a tiny tach just to make sure my RPM's are right and the governor is working correctly.

Right now mine is bone stock except I added a set of mirrors today. I also ordered the OMB intake/header/plug/jet setup and should have that this Saturday. I don't see any need to mess with removing the governor at this time.

Hey KartFab123, are you in Ontario or Quebec. If your near Quebec, where do you go to ride? When I'm in Canada, I'm in the Montreal region and I'm looking for a place to off road with my daughter.

As soon as it warms up outside I will be doing a reliability report and slight upgrades. Look for a thread starting this spring complete with no pictures (remember I don't own a camera, computer or cell phone).
