there is a certain age range that does not respond to telling them what consequences are. you have to show them. even if it means making them stand on a stool in the corner with their face in the corner for an hour, or a butt whoopin. children shouldnt be beaten, they should be spanked till a certain age plain and simple. THEN when they get older and understand more, they will respond much better to explaining their consequences like "because you tried to drive daddy's car in the driveway and hit a tree, you wont be going to six flags"

but trying to explain that to kids that never got disciplined physically as a child and they will laugh at you. sorry but my dogs ARE just like kids, and all i had to do was put the fear of god into them at a young age and they listen to me better than most peoples children mind.

yeah do you take civics? or have some type of social studies text book? Look up the sections on the laws, and the constitution. Heck even a google search can give you some good ideas of stuff you can and cant do. Also learn to be a decent lawyer in a way. What i mean is know how you can use the law to manipulate for your good, then wait up all night like said above. Here in RI my teacher told me that you can be shot on sight for someone trespassing on your property. now i dont know if thats true or not but even shooting him with a bb gun on your property would be legal( i can imagine ) so if you have one what id do is. KNow a way to use the laws to manipulate for your own benefit to get you out of any sticky situation that the following may cause. wait over night, if you see some movement shoot at it with the bb gun to get it to stop or something then run over there and beat the **** outta them. Then call the cops and tell them you have the person.

REMEMBER!! the first step is the most important though make sure you know the laws and can manipulate them to work for you so that you dont end up getting charged for something worse.

I agree with toystory just get a nice big dog and youll be all set.

im 14, in the house theres me, the dog, little brother, uncle, grandma, grandpa, mom, and my uncle. we made a police report of the car and they said theyd add that to it when we called. they said they cant do anything because theres no evidence

Don't shoot anybody with a BB gun. It will just escalate a feud. I grew up in Texas, where the sheriff will tell you that if you want to shoot somebody make sure they're dead, and if you shoot them in the yard, put them in the house. If you wound somebody you're just asking for a lawsuit.

The way I used to deal with vandals and stupid kids in my neighborhood was by putting up signs that said "SMILE, YOU'RE ON CAMERA!" Nobody ever bothered to verify whether there were cameras or not.

Only 120? Heck, the dog I grew up with was 135!

Sorry to hear about your dog, Kendel. I'm the kinda guy that believes dogs are family members, too. I'd be lost without mine. When I had to put down my previous dog, I was lying on the vet's floor crying like a baby. Yeah, man enough to admit it...

My current dog (4 year old chocolate lab cross, 100lbs+) probably wouldn't kill a fly- but when she puts on "the mean act", she could scare a house!

toystory, same thing, we had to have her put down as she was suffering from cancer, she was replaced with my grandmas dog ( part weiner dog,chocolate lab, and pit bull) and he wouldnt do but nip your hand, but when he barks, everyone backs off. Hes crazy tho, he loves the snow
