Off Road go kart

I have an offroad go kart and i am going to put a snowmobile motor on it. Should i put front suspension on it or should i have no suspension at all?

generally suspension is used on off road buggys/karts but it takes time to decide where to put it and mount it. Its allot easier to build one with no suspension , but you will not be as comfortable

I had a remote controlled car that handled better with the front springs wired down, bounced alot less , back shocks might save you'r spine in an off road,

Thanks for the info. I am starting to make independent front suspension. they are single armed instead of double armed. im not looking to get alot of travel but just enough because of the power the snowmobile motor will be putting out.

Since i want to keep it the stock size, i dont think i can do a rear suspension setup.

I hit the park (grass) a few times & padded the seat with 3" foam & hit the park a whole lot more & alot more comfortable, you shouldn't bother just leave it how it is if you haven't started allready, it's the back that makes the most difference, good luck!

Im gonna put more padding on my seat since it will help some. Im just concerned that i will be pulling the wheels off the ground with the motor

well you'r front end should help weight it down or move the back axle back farther, should be good , any pictures ?

Your gonna want suspension, trust me. If i were you i would start the frame from scratch. I sure wish i did with my KZ400 kart, without suspension you die off road.

What kind of sled engine are you using?

its a 440. i forget the name of it. its at my friends house. i dont have enogh money to build a new frame because i am already building another one with full independent suspension but that wont be done for a while.
