Hey Everyone.

So recently I have really wanted build a go kart, and I really only have a field with pretty thick grass So I wanted to build a kart like this.

But my father is thinking it would be cheaper to buy one, which is no fun.

So any one know the prices apx.? And the size/amount of hp I would need to run a Kart that size is a field?

me personally i think its cheaper to build one + you can make it custom and it will be stronger if you do it right

the ones you buy can be OK, but generally are crappy. if you have a welder especially it's better to make your own. plus it's a great learning experience.

you can make make one for 400-800 bucks probably.

You can get Honda Odyssey's for about 500-1000 depending on condition and how nice the seller is.

Many of the parts on it are good, and you could do some modifying and make it exponentially better.

engine size is directly proportional to your weight, drive type, tire size, and expected speed.

a normal adult size male for best top end and climbing torque at least 10 hp IMO, it is a little overkill, but tall grass will bog you down, you should think about taller tires as well.

my hill climbing 4 speed w/ reverse buggy is just a hair over 500cc & 17 hp which is way overkill, but I want to keep up with 4 wheelers.
