Nut Loosening Problem

Hey Guys, there is a problem occurring with my go-kart. When I start to give gas, the back right nut starts to loosen.

Take note that I recently tighten my brake cord. ( moved it back more).

It holds the back wheel on.

I use Nyloc Nuts on my axles. I use a flat washer between the nut and the object that is being tightened.

Replace it with a nyloc nut

Or blue #242 Loctite. Really, though- it shouldn't be coming loose. Is the wheel hub a sloppy fit on the shaft, or something?

I'll tighten the nut (On the rear axle/hub) then when I give it a bit of throttle the nut gets loose.

Is that wheel hub keyed to the axle?

Castellated nuts with a split pin are best for bearing wheels (i.e. 1 wheel drive), nylocs are good for wheels with a key slot.

My bet is he is trying to use a drive wheel without a key, thus the loosening of the nut. From the perspective of the nut, when you try to move forward and the axle slips on the wheel, it is just like turning the nut to the left....which we all know will loosen it.
