Hi all

I'm back with something not go kart related, but Tecumseh related...please help.

I have a snapper snowblower. Was running it after Blizzard Nemo. It revved up really high then stopped working. Now, I pull the cord, and there's no resistance what-so-ever. Any suggestions/diagnosis as to what this could be?

Thanks.

Do you mix oil with the gas, or does it have a separate crankcase that the oil goes into? Or, tell me the make and model of the snowblower.

When you pull the rope, does it grab and spin the engine and it feels like theres no compression, or is it not turning the engine?

it's separate (gas from oil)

there are parts moving on the inside, so i'm assuming that yes, it is grabbing the engine. however, there's no force resisting the force my arm is creating.

Then you've got to figure out where the compression loss is. You may have had a valve let go, or the rings. Could've blown the head gasket, too. Do you know if it is an L-head, OHV or OHC engine?

I'm not sure. Its a tecumseh 6hp hsk60. can get the lead/ohv/ohc info later if you can't figure it out.

Well if it was me. I would pull the spark plug and see if the piston moves to make sure it didnt snap a rod

If the piston is moving then i would move on to checking the valves to see if one is stuck open or bent.

If they are moving fine then I would pull and replace the head gasket. look for a chaared mark where it burnt threw

@Maine Mud Mower piston does not move up and down. We tried to place a ziptie in there to see if it moved at all as I pulled the string. Nothing. Pops tried to push in a the piston as well, still didn't budge.

You may well have snapped the connecting rod. Time to pull the cylinder head off. Based on what we know so far, it think maybe the governor failed, and the over-rev did in the rod. If it were me, I'd pull the side cover off, too.

Possibly, there's an uncomfortable clunking in there. What's the number of the connecting rod on the diagram?

Ok. Thanks for the great advice everyone. Seized means stuck, correct? 'Cuz it's definitely in there pretty well.

Next question is, what's the cause of this?
