so i bought my first kart today. it has a kasea 150cc (gy6?) motor with the cvt tranny. the kart is pretty much all there except for shocks on the rear and i think it will need a new master cylinder for the brakes. the motor is all together but it doesn't have a coil, cdi (if it even needs one) or reg/rec. motor turns over easily.

I have seen some stuff for gy6's are ac and some are dc how do i tell what i need.

so with the assumption that nothing is wrong with the motor what would i need to do to get it running?

Welcome to the forum. You have to understand that this is a very small forum, and it might take a day or two to get people replying. I have no idea about your engine, but someone will chip in soon

You have a sweet kart though

was the engine originaly in the kart? You need probably what you said you needed? About AC DC I have no idea.

You need to ID the kart to start with.

apologies

sorry for the no patience, not my strong suit.

the kart looks like it is homemade, and yeah the motor was in it when we brought it home.

the motor is a honda clone, as far as i can tell it's a 150cc gy6. i'm sure i can figure it out the only things i'm not sure on is if its ac or dc components, and if it needs a cdi.

I do not think it is homemade but could be wrong. Looks like one of the china karts with some of the roll bar cut off. I am quesssing it's the original engine to the kart.

Or homemade front out of quad and kart. Then china kart swingarm and engine? Hard to say from the pics.

Can you post of pic of how your A-arms are mounted to the kart frame? Was trying to see that better.

go to this site: tomberlin 150r tpg manuals. check out end of the crossfire 150 service manual for a wiring diagram. that is a howhit swingarm which is used by many gokart manufacturers.
