I struck the jackpot (I think so anyways). Picked this fine piece of machinery up off of craigslist for $50 yesterday.

At first, I was going to go all-out and put a 125cc 2 stroke on it but I think now for simplicity sake I'm gonna throw on a Honda 5hp.

Of course before any of that happens, it needs some repaiir to the fiberglass seat and a complete teardown, inspection and re-spray.

Has a hydralic rear brake which I should be able to rebuild.

I don't have many places to drive a go-kart, so I figured I'd have some fun fixing it up and making it go then try to sell it for a profit.

How much do you think this hunk of crap would be worth all spruced up with a brand new 5hp Honda engine?

Sorry about the crappy pics. These are from craigslist. Havent had time to take any of my own yet.

Well I got it 90% torn down, removed about 75% of the rust and started painting the outer shell parts, whatever you want to call 'em.

Found the reason why the brakes were mushy. A make-shift bleeder valve and a broken brake fitting. Should be able to fix that for about $10.

Got the frame all painted

Tacked front motor mount (rear swaybar mounts from CRX Si). Had to raise the motor in the front because of ****, it'll work out. Gonna build a bar that joins these together and maybe some gussets.

Tacked rear mounts (cut off of bike's frame). Will build some gussets

Seat is going to need to be repositioned so I had to fill in some holes with 'glass

Nice job you're doing on that! Now, I think you know that we'll all want to see videos of that thing when it's running!

Couple more pics of how it sits now. Motor is just sitting there but i am almost done with the mount.

Ordered a front sprocket and a set of used but good tires. Im probably gonna need a smaller rear sprocket too at some point.

Mini-update. Still waiting on my sprocket and tires. Got the pedals back on and spent the past couple days getting the brakes working. Had to find new fittings and new line and had to tap and drill a new hole for a bleeder. Shifter linkage is going to be a pain because the seat will interfere with just about any scenario but I'll figure something out.

For the shift linkage i would do something like this:

And you could either mount the clutch as a pedal or on the steering wheel.
