Noob hailing from MD

I bought a Yerf Dog 3020 from a neighbor, who took zero care of it. Left it out and such. He actually cut the roll bars off of it too. Have a very good welder friend and we are gonna put some safety bars back on it. My son is 13 and we are working on this together. We live in Southern MD, 30 mins south of Wash DC.
I do have some mechanicial ablities (have an 05 Saleen I play with). But the whole small engine business is brand new for me. I appreciate the welcome and will try to learn as much as possible
