Noob entrance!

Hello, my name is Everett. I live east of Atlanta, Ga. I have been reading all the threads and its great to see the feedback! I will be working on making a Monster Truck Go Kart with my oldest son, starting this summer. I am a builder virgin, but I think this will be a great experience for me and my son. I have a go kart and a honda crf50. My goal is to build and individual go kart for each of my 3 kids and build one for myself. (All off-road types)

Now- a word about "noobs"....I don't like that word and now with nearly back to back members using it and one saying... "everyone hates a noob..."- I think it's time to say something.

First off- this forum is a little different. ..Seniority means little here. We welcome new members and treat everyone with the respect they deserve ( or the disrespect they earn.) If you notice- after 1 post, you are a "junior" member- not a newbie, not a noob.....

We are just as likely to razz you one minute as praise you the next- but we take saftey, helping, and quality of advice very seriously. You are just a new friend we just met- stick around and you'll see.

We only take a dislike to "noobs" when they think they know better than the collective minds of the forum. There are some brilliant minds here with vast knowledge & experience...

One more thing I say to most "noobs", there are no stupid questions, only unanswered ones, no matter how "stupid" it sounds; we all learn by asking questions & everyone has to start somewhere...

Welcome to the forum junior. LOL. Nice kart. It looks like one of those chinese imports. Have you had any problems with it before?

Yes it is a chinese import. As a matter of fact, it is in the shop right now. The transmission case cracked and the gear was stripped. (Hard riding in the snow with my buddies drinking) One of the main reasons I want to build my own.

That sounds about right; you buy a chinese offroad buggy & void the warranty if you take it offroad

Change Georgia with Tennesse, and that comment is as true as it gets. Lol. It happened when I was in Memphis.
