So today I went and bought myself a Honda GX200 for my go kart build.
I also bought some mounts but now come to the conclusion that these aren't the correct size.

My question, could I grind a piece out of the steel clamps to make them fit or is this an absolute no go?

I'm new to all of this so I'm just starting to learn all about karting.

Kind regards!

It looks like aluminum vs steel....If you grind away at it you may not get it aligned properly.

You may be better off just to purchase a raised mounting plate instead...they usually run about $25 on Ebay.

If you dont have a welder or a friend you can usually get a muffler shop to weld the plate for you.....Good luck

Got a college who knows welding, will send a message to the seller of the stands to see what he says, if he has the correct size or will otherwise ask for a refund.

If you decide to buy a universal mounting plate I would go with raised vs flat.....Your frame is pretty narrow and if you mount a flat plate you may run into a problem with the engine bolts/nuts hitting the frame

Gah! Don't go welding a universal plate on there; you just need the right mounts for your frame's tubing diameter and spacing. There are mounts that fit more than one also.

What brand is the frame? It was abviously made for a KT100 or similar engine with an outboard clutch. My Top Kart is the same; you will also need a jackshaft in order to use the original axle sprocket location.

I have no idea about the brand of the frame, why the link? there's no mount to accomodate for the 99mm spacing.
