No Weld Go Kart?

Hi folks!

Ive build a go kart out of plywood and its heavy! Id love to make one out of 1" conduit but I dont have a welder and I dont have the space that will support a welder.

I know someone has made one from Makerpipe https://makerpipe.com/blogs/diy-mod...go-kart-built-with-a-no-weld-frame-maker-pipe

Id like to try something different.

Has anyone done anything like that? Thanks!

Nope. We weld here. It’s stronger and safer.

The only thing "conduit" or more specifically 1" EMT is good for is exhaust pipes, and sleeving over as a shim between two other diameter tubes for welding.

The structural strength is just not there for the span of a kart.
You could maybe build a mini bike from it "safely" but I wouldn't recommend it because bad things happen when torque meets thin walled tubing like that... I sure as hell wouldn't ride it, and I do some pretty hairbrained and bold stuff.
