No Spark?

I got a Scorpion RT GY6 with reverse and electric start. Got it on a trade. Been sitting up for years. Changed the plug and oil cleaned the gas. Was able to get it to half way crank and run but was rough. So I changed the carburetor and it came with the electrical kit. Well that was a AC cdi ended up burning a hole in that one and a smoke show. So I swapped everything back besides the carb now I’m getting no spark. Kids been on my butt to go ride and I can’t get this thing to start. Any advice

Ouch! Sounds fried. At least it’s a quality machine, Manco/American Sportworks
It sounds like you may have mixed up an AC and a DC CDI?
