Ninja 250 shifter kart

Hey everyone I just picked up this dirt kart frame and a 250 ninja motor. Has anyone used a ninja motor for their kart? If so how did you get it to mount onto the kart? Any help would be appreciated

It doesn't seem like anyone here has done your particular engine..
So measure your engine's mounting holes, and fabricobble a mount together that can weld to your frame

It will probably be similar to the second picture. People don't think I can put that engine in that cart they say get a clone and be done with it but I don't want that I want to go fast and I'm 220 lbs so a 6.5 hp motor won't drag me around very fast

I agree! These clones are crap lol, low rpm, low torque, no gears..

Yeah grab some steel tubing and see if you can get a good design drawn up for it, should be pretty straight forward but these blokes can help if you need.

Why not get a 125cc CR125? It's what they used for shifter karts and is much smaller. Major hoop would be making the expansion chamber work or get a custom one made being its a 2 stroke.

Is the mount in pic 2, post #1 complete? If so, there's half the battle won; add to that the mount in post #4 & that should do it...

Fair point, however, it appears he already has the 250...

It's a 4 stroke. No expansion chamber needed boys so he's good on that one.

yes that's the finished mount and the bracket in post 4 is a 250f dirt bike motor not a 250ex motorcycle engine is still have to fab something or hack it up I think I may go with something like picture 2 post 4 and stand it upright

And yes I already have the 250 ninja motor it was free so I'd like to try and make that one work if it won't then I'll try something else.

First just lay the engine in and make sure you can make it fit and line everything up. Then you will just have to take some measurements and fabricate some engine mounts.

So Im assuming you have all associated pieces that make the bike engine run? Rad, wiring harness/electrical parts, battery ect....

It does run right? Its been tested to your eyes.....
When I see these projects.. they are cool... but the heart dont runt right or at all... kinda besides the point.......
Just saying...

I am curious as to what transpires here..

Anyone know what kind of clamp this is? I know its for a seat but maybe they make a larger one may use these to keep the motor in place

That motor is probably gonna throw off too much head to be comfortable sitting beside it. But worth a shot. If anything you could try to fab a heat shield if there's enough room
