Here is a nice performing buggy, low cost and simple. Looks like a modified Edge Tiapan.

Theo, it is a super looking kart, and if it's a Taipan frame, then it is "HIGHLY modified". :drool5:

That thing is running a GSXR1000cc engine with a double A-Arm front suspension and some kind of trailing arm IRS. It reaches top speed of 150 KPH.

I seriously doubt it is cheap or simple to build.

The Taipan is, as it has no suspension. I watched that video almost frame by frame and they are very cautious not to give you a real good look at the rear suspension setup. :toetap05:

By the time you finish building the buggy you are building now, you will have no problems building most of this buggy. The biggest problem will be building the drive and trailing arms.

As for low cost, believe me it's low cost compared to other buggies that perform like that.

It uses semi trailing arms somewhat like this in construction.

The drive is the puzzle for sure. It looks like it's running a TC, then the drive from the jackshaft? Is that you're kart? Is the drive something one can purchase or is it fabricated from scratch?

No that's not my buggy. I believe it's from Europe some where, It's a "kart cross" race buggy.

Grizz you can buy one but they are expensive.

Here is a pic of a simple diff set up. He is using a comet diff.

Thanks Theo, nice set up, but I suppose those differentials have gone the way of the dinosaurs, along with the Torque converters? :toetap05: Any idea what they were commonly used in: Golf Karts maybe?

There were a few of those desert karts built with sled engines and running the comet diff. They claimed they worked, it was probably to do with the belt clutch, they are easier on the drive train compared to say a bike engine I've been told.
