Seems like people like the idea of a 420cc mini bike.
Just happens to be there is one for sale locally.

I feel like drift trikes are starting to be oversaturated now. Not a bad thing as others can use them as a template. But I'd rather see something with a manual transmission in it.

I have built a 125cc manual atc 70 before and it was a blast. The 140 is the engine I've wanted to put in one because they have so much torque.

The 140 piranha in a Honda atc70 will pull the wheel up in every gear based on the one's I have seen. I figured it would be the underdog on this forum since it's a go kart and mini bike forums.

I can get the atc 70 and buy the engine immediately or I can afford to get the atc 70 and a 420cc mini bike and wait on the engine.....

In all fairness I am 1 of the votes so we are actually tied up between the two.

If the tie persists through tonight I will get both the mini bike and the atc70.

If a clear winner arises before tomorrow morning I will go all in on that build and knock it out.

oh wow that looks like fun. takes me back. friend gave me his sisters 50cc 3 wheeler, needed a little work to run. As a teen i barley fit on it. would not fit today i think. They are really dangerous at high speeds.

The 125cc 4 speeds i built would put you on your butt quick. Had quite a few friends fall victim to them over the years.

Well i bought a mini bike with a 420 already on it. I was in a rush because i was late so we met up quick and i got it.
Well that was a huge mistake. The thing is a giant piece of $#*!.
Brakes drag and dont work.....clutch engages when it wabts to and then doesnt want to completely disengage. Thats so much fun with virtually no brakes lol.

Thinking the entire mini bike is junk. So i just paid 400 for a used 420, pos header, crap clutch, and a junk frame. SCORE!!!!

People are so dishonest it makes me sick. Guy said everything works great and there were no issues.

Yeah that's the truth. I'm often to trusting and too honest. Which means I pay more than what it's worth and sell for a fair price and loose money.
I've kind of decided from now on I'm just buying new stuff. Even if it cost's twice as much at least I won't feel cheated after the deal.

But anyways I have the busted up worthless mini bike with a decent 420 on it and I got the ATC70 this morning.
The ATC70 was atleast as described and will make a very good donor for the new power plant. Has good brakes and is very solid.
I'm still kind of undecided on whether I want to spend the extra cash on the 140cc 4 speed manual or go with the 125 4 speed manual.
I've done two 125's before and they have enough power to easily wheelie with a clutch slip in 2nd gear. The 140 from what I have seen will wheelie in every gear and without a wheelie bar is absolutely nuts in 1st and 2nd gear.

Lol i hear ya.
I think that frame is just a touch too small for the 420 is the issue. It sits way off to one side and balances like crap. Doesnt help he has a pos clutch on it with the sprocket on the outboard side.

Would need brakes, clutch, sprocket, and a lot of welding. Not terrible though.

I also just got given a late 90s ford 85 gt lawn tractor......race mower build ? I think yes haha
