To start the day off my sister and I didn't get up for church so had to go to the later mass and walk home (only a mile and a half). And on the way back I had saw(?) That there was a yard sale but my sister didn't want to stop, so I walked the rest of the way home with her.

Ok, actually the good part. I told my friend that there was the sale, and he went up to it all of five minutes before I got there. I had yet to bike there and he had told me to go check it out myself even though he knew there was nothing there. I bike up there and what do I see??

A go kart, in the corner, forgotten. Rusty and had clearly been sitting for a while. I asked if it was for sale and none of the ladies in charge of the sale knew about it, so the one got her husband, and we talked about it and he told me it hadn't been used in 12 years, despite this, the tank was clean and empty, it had oil that didn't smell like gas or have water in it and had compression. I called up mt mother saying that I had a surprise and I needed the truck, and for 100$ I had myself another go kart.

I then had my fellow go kart mechanic friends over and in 3 hours we had put together a complete engine and I managed to dig up enough chain that it was rideable, the throttle stuck and the brakes sucked but I had to go for acouple laps and had fun doing it.
Hope yall enjoyed my story, Dingocat out...

I've got to put new wook in the seat but it should be fine after that, what would the original engine have been? Haven't really done any research on the kart yet.

I'd say Yellow Jackets mostly came with flathead briggs ... but that's just a gut feeling more than true expertise..

But considering that YJ later became Manco
and the documents suggest that early Mancos all had Briggs...
you might see where this is coming from ;)

Thx lol, fixed the front suspention today, a arm bolts were really tight and didn't allow suspention to move. Also pulled the seat off by accedent. Rotted out and had an ant nest in the foam. Rode it around for a bit, needs a new clutch and probably tires and rim work

That's part for the course on an old kart though, at least in my experience. Every single one of the ones I have gotten have had issues with tires and wheels. I have a gokart tire dump behind my shed now.

If you are real creative and handy you might be able to find a way to replace the wood and foam in that seat and still be able to save the cover. Like Sid said it really does look good.

Be on the lookout for a nice Briggs for it. They are hard to come by where I am.

Alex, I thought the Yellow Jackets became the Yerf Dogs? I have one of those but someone cut the crap out of the frame.

It's a Tecumseh OHV! :wai:

I like them, they use less area to mount as the cylinder isn't canted as far over as the clones.

For now. Have plans for the rest of my crap and that was already there. Got another one from a friend for 30$, had all the parts I needed. Briggs will go on and those engines cleaned up and stashed.

So after a while away from this kart, I put on a new trottle cable, freed up the sticky brake petal and gave it a different heart. It's a wisconsin 6 horse that I got from a dumpster. It had a bent pull start, broken pulley for the pull start and a gunked carb. I still need to order a CC and tubes for the tires and most likely some other odds and ends.

And here. Current condition.
