Around 5000 - 5500 RPM approximately

Oh really??!! That would be awesome! That's what I was looking for.

I had read what you guys said about running the 18lbs springs. That's why O asked Mr racing about them. If I can hit 5,000 .+ without them.......why bother. Save me some work & grief_

Can you not take the gear reduction box off. Usually they are just bolted on

Just an update. Kart has been up & running great for a while now. Everyone is enjoying it. I think ill build a diff. front end for it next. The kart parts I used
d doesn't seem to like the abuse or high speeds very much. And a rollcage wouldn't hurt also

and you didn't post pics and a video because??? we read your thread because we want to SEE results, not HEAR about it. lol. :)

how can you tell it doesn't like abuse and high speeds? please elaborate. actually, ALWAYS elaborate. lol.

this site is a learning tool for many, and an entertainment tool for some. dropping by to tell us you finished your kart after we have been faithfully following your thread waiting for results - without showing us the results or giving us the details of any issues that have come up - is kinda like not cool man. lol.

Sry.
To get up to date.
I ended up mounting the "spiderbox" (I believe its called) from the org. pic's to the front end of a small 2 seater kart w/ no susp. I saved from the neighbors trash for free.Moved the steering to the center & strenghtened it up a bit where they mated with a couple gussets on the bottom & a couple of sidebars.
Off road the thing is great.
On the street it's a blast too but real twitchy wide open with thw live axle & the the kart front end. See pic. for end result, lol. I flipped it the other day on the street after going wide open for about a 1/2 mi. It was a usual route I drive it. I wasn't doind nothing spectacularly stupid (imo). After investigation the real culprit I believe was the front wheel. I had recently switched the smaller kart wheels out for lawn mower types because they were a lot taller. They had the plastic inserts in the bearing hubs. One of them had split & gone to hell. Bothe were pretty much melting from not taking the heat.

The kart pic is way early on just to give you the idea. I'll have to take some more recent ones before I start cutting it up again. I have posted some pics in my album today.

... & that's why we don't use them :D

You have to remember, lawn tractors only go about 10mph. Even the brass bushes won't cope with go kart speeds
