It's probably press fit, you'l have to take it to a motorbike rebuild shop and get them to do it, unless you have a machine shop there's no way you'd be able to do it at home.

Welcome to the forum

Thanks

Yep got the clutch off with the special tool made for the fl250r I bought it used on ebay, then I used a air gun on low psi it went pop after about 2 min. This engine has a bent crank (i think) the shaft would wobble on the clutch side, now that the crank is out It don't look bent with the naked eye, I also got the manual on ebay, I'm going to see if I can find a crank it also, needs a piston, rings and gaskets, there was only 1 & 1/2 ring left, & the piston has 2 chips missing on the top edge, but the cylinder looks ok, no scoring that I can see or feel. well coulda been worse thanks' kb

I also have an engine with a bent crank. I will be starting that one in about 3 weeks or so myself. If you have the money you may want to look into a 72,73 elsinore jug and head. They are a derect bolt on. Loads more power and better cooling.

I wish I can help more but I have not done any engine work yet. You need to know anything else on the Ody just ask. You may want to join at Pilotodyssey.com. They would hook you up pretty good with your questions. Hoser know his stuff over there.

There is a rod kit on ebay that mods another rod to fit (with Spacer) You cannot get new rods anymore. The crank is two parts as you know. Check ebay then check to see if you can find a cheap sled engine. Also you can buy running engines on ebay for under $200.

Also get sellers to send you the crank in a Flate Rate Box from USPS.

Have you seen my Odyssey threads in the project section? A sled engine fits nice in the Ody.
