Ok I have uploaded some picture!

I am guessing this is a good start,

But I would most likly need to get rid of the tires?
Install new axle?
Take that funny looking tray thing off so I could place my engine in there? plus take out all that old gears and build a mount for my engine to sit.

I would need new every just gut it all out so there is only the main frame?

Anyways the idea here is to make it a back yard/ large open dirt pit type go kart. I may be getting a 14hp engine Horizontal.

What is the best way to go for metal to use for the rest of the frame?

Anything esle you need to know would be fine by me just ask?

14hp on that thing? Where do I send the flowers to?
Seriously... No. MUCH smaller engine, or whole new plan.
It certainly is unique, tho'.

you think if I weld some suppourts on to this and made it longer and got it a good engine mount I couldn't use it,

I can make one from scratch, but this came with my house and I thought it would be something to try, what if I got a 4.5hp and rig it up,

or should I just build everything right from the get go for my 14hp, if so what kind of metal should it get, and is thier a diagram I should follow to make this 14hp to work out.

I thought I would try?

WOW that is something. In my opinion even a 4.5 HP would be a little to big. Maybe one of those little 2.5 HP from Harbor freight would be great for that.
Putting a larger engine on something like that would be a little scarry because it would be easyer to flip when turning. Also the weight of a larger engine + the driver would cause a loss of controle when hitting bumps, It doesnt look like that has any suspention.
My 2 cents is get a 2.5 HP from HF, remove the TC and get a centrifical clutch and set up a sproket ratio of 8 or 9 to 1.
That will make this thing NOT fast but a nice little thing to scoot around on.

ok either you can do what t-man said and make a fun little thin to ride around on or you can make a sort of copie of that thing. this copie could be made of rectangular and square tubeing. renforce everything steering, engine mount axle ect. then simplifie the drive system maybe a tc and a 6to 1 rateo or somthing. and finnaly lower the center of gravity. bring the seat down, and make a trailer instead of having that bin in the back. anyway good luck

if you bring the gearing down to 4 to 1 you could go really fast. with tires that small you would still have a lot of torque. I wouldn't go higher than 8 to 1 or old ladies with a cane will be passing you
