Newbie with an old Yard Star

Ok so i have an old yard star go kart from like 5 or 6 years ago, i fired it up a week ago cleaned up the carb and what not, heck i even put a slightly bigger. Gear on the clutch and a way smaller gear on the axle. So after i fixed it up and ran it i put the gps on it and it clocked in at 32.14 MPH and i want more, like 40 or 45, however i dont have the cash for a new motor or whole new go kart. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hello. 45 is pretty fast on a kart like that friend. Are you sure you want to go that fast? What kind of brakes are on the yard star?
