Hi Guys, I have a set of 1" live axle bearings with hangers
(bmikarts.com, item #400400) to be exact and I have a question about a problem I am seeing with them and hope that someone can help me out. The bearings themselves have a little stub on them which prevent the bearing from being nice and straight in between the 2 bearing plates. Are these to be grinded down? I looked at other new bearings on line just for picture reference and see it on other axle bearing too. What is the deal with the little stub? If I put the bearing in between the 2 plates and squeeze the plates together like they are supposed to be when bolted, then the bearing is leaning crooked between the plates rather than straight up and down.

You need to be more specific; I've got a guess as to what you're asking about, but without a direct link to the part in question and/or an actual photo, I have no clue just what you're asking about.

If you mean that little rivet in the outer part of the bearing, pull it out with a pair of pliers....like they show you when you click on "product details" for SKU 400400.

Omg!!! Jandj you are so correct. I went and looked at 400400 and saw it! I guess I overlooked that detail before and that little stub was racking my brain. Thanks so much for your help. Love this forum already.

P.S. Does anyone know why they have that rivet there to begin with??
