I find it difficult to believe they used double row 520 chain. Crortch rockets use 520 single row for the most part.
520 aint real cheap, meaning they ain't using anything that costly.
Maybe something got lost in the translation?

I apologize for my delayed replies... I had my annual Dr. appt, got 4 vaccinations, and that wiped me out for a bit. lol

I think Hellion might be correct. I saw the same reference to the double row chain on the parts list from Baja Motorsports.
It is really hard to find a ton of info on this buggy, but here's a quick screenshot I grabbed off someone's YouTube video...

That said, given the decreased availability and higher prices of double row sprockets, I think a single row 520 will probably be ok. Just need to find some that will fit. Anyone have recommendations for a good company that sells these? (preferably someplace w/ competitive prices)

It would if the GY6 didn’t have a variable speed transmission.
oh dang! here's where my ignorance benefits from the expertise of others... so, the transmission on this GY6 is a CVT.
Should I just get gears with those sizes from the parts list (assuming they are accurate)?

Here's my hesitation: The parts list isn't super clear... the numbers for the gear on the output shaft is 33 and the axle sprocket might be 50... of course those are the #s for the 250cc, and my engine is a 180cc (I'm guessing that shouldn't change much of anything)

I did a quick Google search. I'm attaching a pic of the "AI Overview" (which I rarely trust, but maybe it is a starting point!)
It suggests 19T and 46T

I'm with you; we know so little about these and at this point we are guessing about the original equipment. Might hafta do a deep-dive interweb search. Maybe there's some videos on them (engine and kart)....

Seems like you found good (but maybe not 100% accurate) info so far about the sprockets and tooth count.
