Newbie / Old Karter just returning

[Grape Ape]

Been away for some years from karting, too many to count. Just hooked up with a group of guys dirt track racing these karts and got the bug once again. They all are using the Predator 212cc (Hemi & Non-Hemi) with sick RPM's racing on three different tracks, road course, oval, and drag (all dirt). And as always if your going to do it you want to be competitive (at least I do).
Look forward to all the input everyone has to help me get up to speed quick.

then I'd suggest you picking nicks in an ordinary fashion and taking 757 Karts as you

Since you seam to be very knowledgeable I have a question! Don't want to piss anyone off.

I'm really in the planning stage not the project yet so should I start a thread in Gokart Discussion or Photo Gallery & Project. I know the engineer in me is going to want to modify everything from frame to steering and just don't think that is stuff to discuss under Photo Gallery & Projects. Thoughts?

Understand, just thought it would be easy enough to find each other and let everyone know we are with the same group.
Question: Can I change it now to just Grape Ape (name of my kart) and where can I find instruction on how to do so?

If you think you'll going to get into building anytime soon, just take the project log,
there's nothing wrong in changing something on the go or ask questions there as well.

But if you're in an early stage of your planning phase and not entirely sure when or what you're ending up building, then the gokart discussion is a more appropiate place to start
(or the engines & clutches forum of course)

If -on the other hand- you think you can even finish before december..
then there's even a third option:
you can compete in our build off!

In any case... if you end up in the wrong one and you notice afterwards, just drop a moderator a line and we can simply move it

That would not work for the group only one other karter has a name like mine it's Brown Hornet".

OK..It's White knight. and Bertha and Wingnut are neck and neck in back of Monte Kartlow. Brown Hornet is bringing up the rear....

Clone killer is slowly getting in on the mix....while Bad Idea is starting to make its presence known. Now Plan B is starting to look really good....as is Deathwish as Bertha 's internals are now exposed due to inadequate lubrication. Knight Slayer has Red Skull at the back of the pack....

At the finish it's Grape Ape! He came out of nowhere to take this race!
