Hiya I'm Fourteen And I Need Help. I Have Wanted A Go Kart For Years Now And I Really Want To Build A Small 2 Seater For Me And My Friend. I Want To To Run Up-To About Maybe 15 - 25 MPH Max. And The Battery To Last An Hour Or So. My Big Brother Is An Auto Electronic And He Will Help Wire It All Up Plus My Car Can Weld The Metal Chassis. Okay So I Don't Know How The Steering Will Work Or What Motor/Battery I Need And I Don't Know What A Controller Is LOL. I Properly Sound Stupid To You Guys. Can You Prefabs Write A List Of Everything I Need To Complete This. Thanks.

P.S I Will Properly Be Building A Body For It To So Will I Need More Battery's To Power The Lights?

Thanks Very Much!

Here Are Some Pics Of What I Want It To Look Like. It Will Be Very Small Like A Two Seater Peel P50

(legally a mobility scooter around here)
Something you will drive when you're old and/or disabled

but each to their own I suppose :D

A two seater electric is a bit of a challenge, since you will need very expensive motors and controllers in the end.
that is if, you cannot get hold of a cheap electric golf cart.

So my advice would be: find a cheap electric golf cart and reuse it as a base.
it'll be not only pretty much the size you need to fit two butts and several batteries,
it's also providing enough R&D to safely steer and brake something of that size ;)

If you want to make your own from scratch,
it at least provides you with the motor, controller, wheels, steering and seats.. maybe a windshield ;)

It's hard to tell what you will need (make some sort of list)
since the list will always be incomplete in the end,
and I think you want a list to not 'forget' something...
so it's pointless to some degree. :(

PS Please fill out your location details in your profile...
I assume it's UK because of the Peel (that is a cute little fellow...)
but that wont point you to good sources ;)

i agree a golf cart for the base is what you should be looking for. building something like that from scratch is a huge progect even for an experienced builder with lots of cash.

Just want to start off saying welcome to DIYGK,

Before you start on the build, make sure that you have the tools you need and you have time and alot of money. builds like this are not easy and they require alot of $$$

P.S you dont capitalize every letter of a word just saying
