First of all I just want to say hey. I am new here and this is my first go Kart build. Im 26 and I am building this kart for my son for his 5th birthday. I got the kart from a friend of mine who is a police officer and it was recovered stolen but never picked up so he gave it to me. It was missing a few parts such has a rim, front hub, steering wheel, engine etc...but here is my problem

The rear axle is really rusted(live axle) but still functions but the brake system was messed up and in order to get the axle off I had to cut the hubs off. Little did I know what else was in store for me. The axle looks to be a 1 inch axle with a step down and I assumed it to be steped down to 3/4" like I have seen online. I ordered 2 hubs accordingly and they wont fit. The step down is 7/8". I can not find a hub to fit this dimension. The old hubs were square and only fit on the axle on the step down part and never touched the 1 inch part of the axle. I hope this al makes sense. I am trying to get a hub like my old one to keep from buying a whole new lives axle set up. any help would be appreciated

The kart is a streaker fun kart, and it had a sticker of an eagle and said predator. Hope that helps. Thanks

Aside from a new axle, the only thing coming to mind is buying new 3/4" hubs and having them machined to 7/8", or conversely having your axle ends turned down to 3/4".
