Newbie member here need some help please

Ok so I have a go kart that I just fixed I didn't build it but any way. I ran it and was running good now when I try to start it. It backfires on the 3rd pull when I try to start it up can any one please help I would appreciate it. the engine is a predator 212cc 6.5hp engine.

What info do you need? I'm all new this it's my first go kart

I like to try the simple stuff first. I'd put a spark plug in it to make sure it hasn't fouled.

How old is it, what have you done to this poor machine, does it eventually start?

First off, I'd say your cart is stuck to the wall.

That could be a problem.

The most obvious answer is the timing key is sheared; wouldn't hurt to check...

If that motor is new. Put the breather box back on and return it to HF. They do not ask questions.

Check your valve lash make sure it's .003 on both valves. Then check the push rods make sure they didn't bend

I build racing engines. When I get them back every 3 races I go through and check everything and sometimes I have found that stock push rods are subject to bend at high RPM.
