Newbie looking for parts suggestions for Radio Flyer Wagon Kart

As part of a club project, I'm on a team trying to build a self-driving wagon from a Model 32 Radio Flyer Wagon.

Because it's self-driving (not exactly a go kart, I know), we probably won't have a steering wheel or pedals, and will definitely need an electric motor. Also, we're not planning on using the wagon to transport people, just toolboxes and ~20lb robots, so it doesn't need to be very strong or fast.

I'm looking for recommendations about good places (websites) to buy cheap parts, specific parts that seem well suited to this project, and, if possible, links to other projects using this same wagon. Or any general newbie advice is fine.

Welcome to the forum. Have you done a search for Radio Flyer wagons on this site? There are a few, one inparticular that uses a electric motor

Yes, I've been looking around the site. Is this the kart you're talking about? It's the only one I've found with an electric motor.


The electric motor which the kart from the above link uses seems a bit high voltage for the computer we're programming with, but we may be able to change that with a bigger battery, we'll see.


I think I probably need to look around the site, probably make a post in the "Introduce Yourself!" forum, since I don't think this post will get me much headway at the moment.
