Hello guys I just got a go kart and I'm not sure what kind it is. I need to replace a few parts. The motor was froze up so I tore it down and the governor was in the way so I took it out and it works fine . But the sprocket it warped so the chain keeps popping off so I need to replace it. I think it's a manco. I seen a few pics of the same kart so thats where I'm at on what kind it is. I was wondering if these karts are all inter changeable ? And also what sites are go to order from? Thanks for any info to get me started.

The parts I need to replace.

Warped sprocket
Double flanged hub for the sprocket ( bar rings are shot)
Tie rod ends for steering.
Throttle cable
Rear tires and rims .

lmao i knew i was forgetting somthing. i also threw in some motor pics. its a Lifan 196cc i learned that its the same as the honda GX200. also the tires where modded on this kart. who ever had it welded the bigger rim to the stock rim. looks kool but its a hell of a rig so i might buy new rims and tires. what sizes do i look for?

well first i have to find out what kind of kart this is. im thinking Manco fox??

Look for something that resembles the front wheels with the drive setup of the rears, ie: centres, sprocket mount, etc...

your gearings WAY to high for a centrifugal clutch id suggest finding a axial for it and hubs and move the motor to the middle of it and make a jack shaft for it

Awesome! So should I work with the big tires or get the ones suppose to be on there. I'm thinking it will burn the clutch being it will take more power the get me goin ?

Oh ok I see I would have to rebuild the read end to live axle?

Only if you want a live axle. You dont NEED one. I would get smaller rear tyres if you are using a centrifugal clutch. Large tyres and cent clutches are not friends. You will have to gear so low for it to work nicely that you wll not enjoy the speed of it

You have a centrifugal clutch at the moment. I can see it in your one pic. With tyres that size, I would probably use a comet 30 series (if your engine is 8HP or less).

Comet 30's and other torque converters use a belt to connect the drive "pulley" and the driven" pulley. The driven pulley is on a jackshaft that has a sprocket for your chain. That is connected to your axle. Expensive set-up.

well i got my kart from a friend , he said the motor froze cant pull start it. he even broke the rope pulling on it. so he gave it to me. so i pulled it and on top of the motor theres a arm that controls the governor. i messed with it and the motor freed up and i was messing with it again and it locked back up. so i researched and i seen how you can totally remove the governor so i tore it down and removed it. cleaned it all up and fires right up smooth idle.

Governor gone way, waaay outta whack. He must have been messing with it (without knowing what he was doing), bypassing it (without knowing what he was doing) or perhaps the bolt that holds the external governor arm to the shaft had worked its way loose. Good thing he couldn't start it like that. The results could have been spectacular!
