newbie here bought kart and mini bike

Hello name is kris just picked up a Kart and mini bike for $150 always wanted one the kart is a manco dingo I believe has a 8 HP Briggs first thing on list is new engine what will work on this really excited to fix her up thanks guys will post pics when I figure out how

Thanks guys still trying to post pics don't think I can use my phone the engine needs a recoil and muffler other than that looks pretty intact and looks like a snowblower engine but been doing some reading on the forum and I guess they used a special Briggs motor gotta get some pics posted gonna get her lookin and running nice oh by the way it has 18-6.50-8 inch tires can i go bigger for more ground clearance? If you go bigger, you will ultimately be changing the gear ratio. Meaning it will have more top speed, less take off power. Don't get me wrong, big tires are cool, but if you can, do a suspension lift if all you want is a little clearance.

Little worried the bottom sprocket is pretty close to ground with no protection

I would repair the engine if you can. Check for spark & compression. If you get spark, use some starting fluid and see if you can get it to "pop".
No recoil so you may have to improvise.

IIRC the dingos came with Tecumseh engines; perhaps some were B&S (I've seen one or two). Either way, you have an 8hp engine, use it if you can...

From what I've seen, most dingos have massive balloon tyres; forgive me but, yours don't look big enough to be 18s

You are correct I looked wrong they are 16-6.50-8 and they do seem smart what would be a good size balloon tire thanks kris

IN that case, it's probably undergeared anyway... You'll definitely get away with 18s, maybe even 20s; check the gearing first though
