Is it possible to add a 5 speed transmission to the duromax engine or is it dangerous for the engine?

And will it be faster or will it be slower?

 Well i thought of maybe i could add a transmission like the motorcycle engine and that would save me from installing a clutch and would make the kart much faster.

Im also very new to this hobby so i'm still learning :D

Anything is possible with enough time and money, however by the time all is said and done your better off buying a motorcycle engine with a built in tranny and plate clutch. If you did want to attach a tranny, best bet is buying a harley tranny, which is seperate from the engine unlike most motorcycles, but they are very expensive.

As far as faster, if you have a 5 or 6 spd you will be able to achieve a higher top speed than a centrifugal clutch, with better starting torque, all depending on gearing of course.

It has been done before but it requires the purchase of a whole motorcycle engine then running a chain from the crank of your engine to the flywheel mount of the bike engine

u buy a seized or incomplete bike engine ( which is risky )
Then remove the cylender and piston + rod
Make a plate that seals over the cylender
Make an adapter that allows u to bolt a sprocket to the fly wheel

Quite a bit of fabricating and a little machineing
And after that u may just find the crank can't handle the twisting force and decide to snap

Really it's easier to find a good running bike engine
