Hi guys,
My name is Steve and a father of 2 boys. I am 48 year old and have minimal mechanical skill. I am a eager learner though. 10 years ago, I bought a metal pedal car from a place name American Retro. It is a like a mini formula race car from the 1950's. The car was about $600 shipped back then. I was very, very disappointed in the build quality of the car. EVERYTHING on it is flimsy and poorly designed. My then 3 yo boy did not have any fun in it, so it was just sitting in the garage collecting dust soon after we got it. Fast forward to recent days, my second son who is 5yo, is now showing some interest in the car which already has broken steering mechanism just from my first boy playing with the steering wheel then. I recently saw a video of the same car being converted to a front engine go kart and I am going to do the same thing but with a electric motor instead.

I am hoping to learn a lot from you all so I can build this car for my boy before he outgrows the car.
