Hello all, I have been lurking around this site gathering ideas for a mini bike I would like to build. This site is great and you all are very helpful answering all the questions asked from others.
So far I am leaning towards a, “not too radical chopper” version. So I have two questions to start with as I begin gathering parts and pieces for this project. I have a 3.5 B&S horizontal shaft engine I’d like to use and would like to install an electric starter on this just for the fun of it, you know big bike, push button, vroom, vroom. Has any one done this before?? I have older vertical shaft engines with electric starters so I would believe one could be installed on a horizontal shaft engine. And the next question is that I would like to use a rear wheel other than the typical wheel as seen in the northern catalogue, something more like what’s used on traditional motor cycles. What would work well and where would I find a source for these. Thanks in advance, am looking forward to this project.
