So i bought a used, beat up go kart for cheap, in order to salvage as many parts as i can for a go kart build. Can anybody tell me exactly what i have here, and if its any good to use. I'm not trying to build a race kart, just for fun. By the way, I'm pretty sure its a torque converter, but I have no idea if its good for use still.

Thanks guys. So if I clean it up it will work fine? Again, I'm sorry for the beginner-ness...(question) I run the "large" pulley from the engine shaft to the "small" pulley via the belt. That drives the small axle with the 12 tooth sprocket, that in turn has the large 54-60tooth sprocket that attaches to the axle, to drive the kart?????

Wrong way around; the smaller pulley (currently in two pieces) goes on the engine shaft, the larger pulley & the small sprocket are connected via a shaft that runs through the housing on the left.
