Whats up? complete newb to the whole small engine world! I bought a two seater go kart with a 5 horse briggs and stratton! and now i just happend to get into a baja warrior mini bike? im pretty sure thats what it is. it needs a little work but im game for it, but ive been reading some posts on here and people keep mentioning a tav? what is that? anyways im sure i will be hitting yall up for some info. and i ll get pics posted later.

A tav-2 is a torque converter system that comes complete with a mounting plate and jackshaft.
The mounting plate bolts to those 4 threaded holes on the side of your engine.
Some guys prefer to use a torque converter system instead of a conventional centrifugal clutch.
Torque converters work kinda like a regular go kart clutch but they have the advantage of being a variable speed transmission.
Check out how the belt and pulley widths change as speed increases/decrease in this video:
