Hello all! New here, and starting a new liking... working on go karts!
Recently swapped out the engine out of a doodle bug mini bike with a 212 from Harbor Freight.
Then just last week purchased what seems to be (after research) a Trailmaster 150 xrs.

Got some work to do, but not in a rush, building is part of the fun for me! Plus I get to teach my kids to tinker!

Located in GA - hopefully I can learn a few tips and tricks from you all!

Thanks!

Welcome.
I just did a 212 in a doodlebug.
How did you get it to fit? I had fun.
Lets see some pics.

And teaching the kids is highly regarded here. 👍
Its a bit over powered I believe... I actually have the governor set up so the kids won't get hurt too bad whiskey throttling it lol! They are more conscious now

It fits, I did have to punch a new hole on the mounting to line it up properly.
Gas is a abit hard to fill but I don't believe it's a big deal

You can “clock” your recoil starter so the handle is pointed to the rear (its just 3 screws). If you pull from the rear of the bike, you can turn on fuel, turn on choke, start it and quickly turn off choke after it starts without fumbling your hands all over the bike.

Love the Baja Doodlebugs, probably the greatest China minibike ever, in the old classic minibike style.

I really should do that, thing is .. it's just sitting there at the moment, not being used.

Really am thinking about selling it.
Had a good time having my son help me build and paint it...
But I think he may be more interested in karts.

What do you all think? ...
Sell the working mini bike for a straight trade for a NON WORKING trailmaster mini.
I was told it has compression but won't start ... Stored outside as well it seems.
Facebook marketplace can fool you at times.

Guy is interested but I'm hesitant coz I just picked up a non working trailmaster 150 XRS, that I plan to get running and play around with.
Then I'd have 2 karts to play with!

It's not even a modded motor, it looks bone stock. B-O-R-I-N-G. Still has those ghey warning stickers on it.
:roflol:

Karts are cool. It's whatever floats your boat, man.
This is very true - however a new spark reignited and I spent scrolling thru sites and videos for upgrades last night ....

Might need to scratch another itch!

You might consider adding a torque converter to it as well. Then you can go most anywhere with the gear ratios that that ‘automatic transmission’ gives you. Then find some nice single track trails.

Remember: you can always store more minibikes than karts. 😁

…And those China karts are garbage 🤫
