I had originally had the harbor freight 90 amp FCAW until my grandpa showed up to my house with this:

its a lincoln weld pak 100 set up for mig but do not have gas for it yet! will try to get some welds tomorow and take some pics to show you guys the difference between lincoln and hf

why not switch the wires .-. (and polarity)

Ahh, yes- the venerable Lincoln Lunchbox- an excellent machine, and one that I have logged many, many miles on.

You can get the gas for it, or run it in flux core mode. As hacksign was suggesting, open it up, switch the work clamp to + and ground the gun, flip the drive roller, switch tips, and you can toss in your roll of flux core.

That machine will last you a lifetime. Nice!

You dont need gas if you run flux-core wire.

Flux-core requires negative polarity- ground clamp is +, gun is -

Then you get to add your work to the "world's worst welds" thread. Trust me, you NEED to switch polarities between SMAW and FCAW modes.
