New Turf Saver tires

So my DirtBug DB30 project needs two new tires, and the knobby tires on there now are almost dry rotten and have been patched a few times by the previous owner, I am thinking new tires. But since this bike will never see any off road other than my yard I wanted some turf saver tires. Saw these at Tractor Supply and the size seems that it would fit. Currently it has 145/70-6 and these 15-6-6 seems to be pretty close to that.

Anyone used these on their mini bike before, and if so how good are they holding up?

Those should be good--Kenda makes good tires but as always, shop around. There's debate as to what constitutes a good tire regarding construction, but a 4 ply is going to be better than a 2 ply and so on and so forth...

If not Kenda, go with Carlisle. But they're all pretty much the same.

I used those on my doodlebug once before too. You may need to use spacers either for the brake caliper or the brake rotor. Because it is very tight clearance and may rub may rub caliper.

Walmart .com has the lowest prices for tires and nice selection with free shipping.

I have always had good experiences with turf saver tires in general. They are a good balance of traction and will last much much much longer than those little knobby tires.

I'll second the Walmart. That's where I got my dingo tires. They seem to be holding up nicely, for going sideways all the time.

I use those tires on the front of my karts. They hold up very well on the dry lakebed.

Looks like Home Depot is the winner here, going to order these from them and see if my skill set will allow me to mount these myself and seat the bead. I went by Wal Mart and all the tires I could find had super flat tread, these at least have a ever so slight curve which should make turning a little easier, even though I just wanna go fast in a straight line.

Well, that's a nice pic there but what you're seeing is a representative photo of the tire in question and one which I think has just a little too much air in it or it's just right (who can tell?).

Your mileage may vary based on all kinds of conditions.

Mounting and seating them are deceptively easy. Just search some old threads or seek "fire method" or similar.

There is a noticeable width difference between the two. The extra inch makes a difference. I would just recommend making sure you have that space on the bike. Just FYI. This is the turf saver on the back, and the knobby on the front.

like I said... You will have to put some spacers behind the brake rotor with the 15x6-6 tires.

The new tires are on, did not have to use any spacers to make it work, everything went back together with plenty of clearance. Digging how much smoother the ride is now. Mounting the tires and seating the bead was a lot easier than I initially thought and using the air compressor with the valve stem removed helped a lot.
