Hi All,

so I bought a new trailmaster 200E (fuel injected) and got everything together pretty easy.

my question is it looks like it goes about 28mph.

is there a way to adjust the speed on the fuel injection models?

hard to really find any info on it since it's the new fuel injection model...
from what I've tried to find there is a Bluetooth dongle for the 300E which i bought that plugs into ecu...but it won't connect to the app.... maybe cause it's a 200E not 300E?

kinda wish i just bought the carb model at this point if it's this much of a pain to adjust.

any help appreciated.

Carb adjustment isn;t going to get you more speed........gear change, larger FI jet , smaller tires.... lose some weight !!!

this is the fuel injection model as stated. there is no carburator.
only reason i mentioned i almost wish i had carb model is it gives you full power off the bat

i think the efi model limits it from factory but that's kind of what I'm asking here

ok how;s this...efi adjustment is not going to get you more speed....gear change...larger injector nozzle...smaller tires...lose weight,
jeez it's the same point no matter what the fuel delivery system is !

The only restriction from the factory will be the injector nozzle size ! what I said above will get you more speed.

are you sure?

https://gokartsusa.com/bluetooth-dongle-trailmaster.aspx is what i tried to use but couldn't connect which is why i asked on here

I'm pretty sure it changes the map (more fuel output from injectors, more air, more timing, raises the max rpm) which allows around 40mph

(also smaller tires wouldn't get you more top speed, larger would if you had the power)

not trying to get into some weird debate with you. just looking to see if anyone has any real experience with this model and changing the top speed/ecu map.

I believe the adjustments on fi will reap the same results as a carb.......you'll either lean out your mixture or enrichen it. Those will not result in higher speeds. they'll mostly fry your plugs. The injector jets will only pass so much fuel, if you insert larger jets.......you get more fuel.

it literally says it here

  • Factory Max Speed: 28 MPH
EFI can be changed to a performance settings that increases max speed to 35 MPH. The action requires Bluetooth connection dongle [not included] and Android app.
anyone else ever done this or used the Bluetooth dongle with success?

we don't do dongles in California, and in polite society we don't even mention them !

Find a kid around 12YO. They will figger this out in about 5 minutes. I have played with EFI on a few V8 engines and Red is correct, adding more fuel won’t make it go faster, but it will make it run like ****!

Not at all sure a top end speed increase from 28 to 35 mph would be worth the trouble and maybe also the cost for you. Think in terms of ratios, of gives and takes.............
If you'd be willing to sacrifice some acceleration off the line to get more top end speed, then redflash already gave a good answer, he just typed it transposed smaller/larger. It's larger (not smaller) tires that will increase your top end speed, at the cost of some acceleration. Same with the gear ratio, a larger drive sprocket on the driveshaft will do the same, again at the cost of some acceleration. Inversely to that, a smaller axle sprocket instead will do the same.
Doing the math, if a 7:1 gear ratio got you 35 mph., then theoretically a 5:1 gear ratio on my abacus will get you 49 mph. Theoretically. Actual results will vary per manufacturer's level of B.S. they can get you to swallow.
I personally enjoy some neck-snapping acceleration from higher gear ratios, while I've never enjoyed lower gear ratios that get me those faster top end speed bugs in my teeth.
