So a friend give me a pile of goodies th other day...

A couple lawnmowers(flymo!) and some bikes...
A Fox Thunderbolt, and a Honda trail70, and trail90.
The Fox has a 5hp tec, but its locked up... The honda 70 turns over, but the key I have doesnt appear to work. The honda 90 appears to be locked up, though could be the clutch. Key seems to work in this one.

Anyone tell me about the Hondas?

Best part they was pretty much free, got him some rocks for his pond...

Omg! That's just amazing!

For the Fox - what's causing the lock up? Is the clutch rusted on the axle, causing it to stuck?

What's the difference between Honda 70 and Honda 90?

I think the fox is just siezed from sitting for 20-30 years. Hopefully I can get it going again.

The honda 70 is the blue one, 90 is orange. Apparently, the 90 could possible be road legal... wouldnt that be cool.

I really dont know much about the hondas, Im going to tackle the Fox first and stock up on stuff for the hondas.

Whaddya want to know about the Trails? Cool little bikes, I believe both can be made road legal. I've seen a very cool Honda 90 scrambler that actually ripped pretty good.

The 70 has a sticker saying it was off road only, maybe a different version was...

Well they all turn over, and I decided I want to try to get the 90 running, it seems to be the easiest I think. Though, as the kick start is pressed the drive sprocket turns... I think its the clutch...

The 90 looks just like a postie bike to me, they are everywhere over here as they are the bike generally used by postmen. I think most are 110's here, dunno if you guys have them over there, they are the ct range ie ct90 ct110 etc. Great bikes, super reliable and certainly road legal over here, as far as I know the rules in the US are heaps more relaxed than here.

haha

That's the clutch, indeed. Try disengaging your clutch, using the left handle on the steer (atleast, it's like that on my bike), if it's still moving, then there is something wrong.

It's always easier to put him in neutral first. Try that.

Sorry Alex, I couldn't resist

Have another look at the handlebars: there is no lever on the left, it's a semi auto

Plate clutches on motorcycles will stick when sitting for extended periods of time. On bikes with a clutch we usually either push start them, run it up to second or third, and lock up the binders while pulling the clutch lever in, or just push the bike by hand if it's not stuck too bad. You should be able to do something similar with your auto clutch, just by letting go of the throttle rather than holding the clutch lever.
You can always just disassemble the clutch and inspect it, but beware auto clutches are a lot more complicated than a standard MC clutch.

Its got the off road only on it, so Im not even gonna bother. It will be a fun bike to put round the property with.

The trail 70 though, I might look into getting it road legal, time will tell. Untill then I just want to get it running, then see about making it all pretty.

Hopefully, I can get one running soon. I want to change the oil in the hondas, new plugs and batterys.

while away seeing my father i played with a semi auto with no way of starting, go to a slight hill and put it in neutral ride down and shift to first, the rear tire will give you some frustration but if all is good itll start right up. throw it back in nuetral and slow down, then ride
