with a little help from my friend it runs 2now im taking the old paint off to put a hard coat of truck bed liner on it then paint what needs to be painted.Anyone want anymore pics

Keep it. They are cheap to maintain, and just as cheap to drive. You can rebuild the engine in just a few hours, for just a few hundred bucks. And if taken care of, the engine will last quite a while. I've been a vw nut longer than a go kart freak......
Do yourself a favor..... Hold on to it. Take care of it. Don't cheap out when doing monthly maintenance. Don't buy a bunch of EMPI brand parts. They are crap, for the most part. (jokingly, EMPI stands for " Every Mistake Passes Inspection"...... If you take care of it, you could hand it down to your own kids one day......
I still have a "2 of a kind " fiberglass dune buggy that I'm going to rebuild for my son's first car. It is 1 of only 2 known to still exist. The other one is in Boulder Co. and I've keep in contact with him to see how his buggy is doing.
Do the buggy a favor and go join thesamba.com and learn all about vws and history keep them alive. Speaking of that.... FIRST thing you need to buy is, John Muirs "How to keep a Volkswagen Alive". It's like the holy grail for working on a vw. With that book, and basic tools, you can keep that buggy running forever.
That forum I linked is full of a bunch of crabby old guys. If you think it gets rough on you here, don't ask a bunch of dumb questions or post a bunch of random crap. They will call you on it in a heartbeat. On that forum, you MUST do some research on your own, to avoid what would be thought of as a dumb question. But for vws, that's the Site to go to...... I'm a member there too, just under a different user name......

You have a king pin front end. Highly desirable for off road use. Yours has been modified with what looks to be 10" shock towers. You can get like 10"-12" of travel, easy........
Only bad thing is the transmission. It's a swing axle type. Not good for off road. Will work alright, as long as you respect what you got and don't expect more out it than what it can do. That type transmission is best suited for street use. World Record holder Matt Laughler (sic) has the fastest vw bug and runs a modified swing axle trans.
For off road, you really want an IRS trans. You can convert what you got, fairly cheap, and end up with 12"-14" of rear travel, versus the 6" max you get with the swing axle.......

We found out that the engine is not a 1600 its a 1835 its a UO model only made in 1970 and the frame is a build a kit i did the research on the engine but i still cant tune the 34 pict 3 CARB (It could be because it was made in mexicant )im going to go to the junk yard on half day and get 2 bucket seats a friends coming to sand blast it for me and we will be doing it a nice blue with a gloss and the floor pan will be coated in truck liner.I will go there i researched a little at first it does not seem like a forum .

It's probably because it's an Empi made 34 pict. The ones made in Mexico are the stock ones and made by the manufacturer. The Empi ones are made in China, copied from the Mexican version. It might just need to be cleaned or rebuilt. Go to that sight and search, "how to tune a 34 pict "

have no clue lol im missing the front bumper to but it can be custom made its not hard with metal pipe to do .My friend was telling me the good carbs come from germany or america.

Post a close up of the carb.
The front and rear bumpers can be bought for around $200 or less. No need to try bending one up, if it's easier and cheaper to buy one pre-made. The end result will look better too, more than likely, unless you and your friend have experience measuring and marking bends and angles......
