New torque converter works well but makes noise

I installed a new torque converter it works really well but when I hit the gas I get a clunk before it takes off I can’t fogure out engine seems to move ever so slightly. If I jack up and spin the axel forward the chain and sprocket are very smooth if I go backwards it jumps every 360 spin. Any thoughts

Find out what spot it makes contact... Inspect the chain at the joining link( the master or joined link with a chain tool). Look to see if it contacts the frame or any other place... Take a look at the teeth of the sprockets maybe one or some are buggered.....

Hold a screwdriver against the frame and use it as a pointer at the sprocket. Spin the axle and see if the sprocket spins straight or if it deviates. In any direction.

Basically make sure the axle is not bent. The sprocket could be out of round and making the chain tighten and loosen.

Look at the shape of the teeth on the sprocket. They should not look like surf waves.

Everything looks pretty straight, just when taking off seems like the belt may be slipping a little on the tav it’s brand new.
