And a couple of 3202s

One of my 3202s was badly wrecked when the engine stalled goin up a hill and rolled back and hit a tree. Bent the axle and destroyed the swing arm I think beyond repair. What do y'all think?

If you have a big hammer, a square, and some 3/16" steel plate you can beat it back into place, make sure the motor mount is square, and the axle hanger is square, then weld on a few gussets to keep it square. Eyeball it with the square tubing on the same plane as the motor mount to make sure it isn't twisted, then make sure the distance from the axle hangers to some non-bent point is the same so your axle wont be crooked ...maybe $5 worth of steel, and a $30 axle from bmikarts.com.

It's a lot of effort, but you will be glad when you get it fixed. I had to do the same thing for a guy. Only difference was that the steel tubing had snapped by the axle hanger... While yerf dogs look cool, they are also made of thinner (14 ga?) tubing, and the welds seem to be less than stellar. Fun to drive though!

Nothing is beyond repair if you have the time, patience & skill to repair it...

From a panel beating perspective, you need to weigh up the cost of a replacement vs the time it will take to repair the damaged item. IMO, repairing the existing one will be good experience...

Hey Nick, I am in need of the rear 15" drive wheel assembly on my murray since when I got it, it had no wheels. I'm wanting to go back with stock setup. Do you know where I can find one? So far, I've found that I can make one with a 2-piece 6" rim, Double flange, 15" Turf tire, 60T #41 sprocket, and a 4" drum using parts from BMIKarts and gokartsupply. But it gets expensive!

Also the left side axle bolt on mine is missing. Do you know the length of the original 5/8" bolt? The right side one is 6" long. would it be the same for the left? And were the front tires originally 10" and the rear 15"?

I know these are alot of questions. I'd appreciate anyone's help!

-I actually just removed the 15" tires from the rear rims. I want to stick with a 6" rim to mount the tires on. I do have the stock rims if you so want them. Maybe pay for shipping and throw me couple bucks to call it fair. Or if you have some 6" live axle rims we can trade....

- I just measured the rear bolts. I cut off the rear (dead) axle. I am not sure which is what side, but one is 5" bottom of threads to bottom of hex bolt and the other is 7" from end to bottom of (head) hex bolt.

The stock was a #35 chain and sprocket which I intend to reuse. I have the drum and band brake, but might reuse them until I can get a disk brake setup.

It does get expensive as I am finding out right now with my conversion.:ack2:

The front tires I am unsure of the size as my had some tires from TSC these..http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/tire--wheel-13-in-pneumatic?cm_vc=-10005
that are probably for something used in the yard.
I think if I get the 145-70-6 rims those might fit.

Well, BMIKarts has a replacement for $90. Think that's the way I might go and reinforce it.

1" live axle is $20 plus shipping on bmikarts.com.

You just need the right length, not an actual "yerf dog" axle. They are all 1".

Some may say that's the way to go but, I would attempt to salvage the existing one; all you need is a length of thick wall tube (or pipe) that fits snugly inside the existing tube & about an hours work (you see where I'm going?). The same method to repair the damage can be used to reinforce the other side too &, when you're done, it will look original...
