I put a gx200 carbon.and filter w new header.goes about forty now.I bought a fuel pump w a velocity stack and a small section made w a pulse fitting.im hoping it works w out flooding.when I hit full throttle for too long the online filter I bought would run out of gas.do I figured using a fuel pump would help.

That looks really cool. I like the body on the kart. You can give it a really nice racing look paint job. 40 is fast! What gearing do you have on your kart?

Phoenix had several other 'pay to ride' go kart tracks back in the day, your Tiger kart was most likely used at one of them. Tiger made rental karts like yours and regular funkart models.

Your fuel tank should gravity feed just fine without a pulse pump. If your fuel isnt flowing to the filter its possible your gas cap isnt venting causing a vacuum-lock, or maybe your tanks outlet (or fuel-line) is somehow plugged up.

Thx for the info.I like the way the fuel pump looks mounted on a plate.I already bought the square mikuni pump w arc adapter plate and pulse fitting.im hoping it works.are there any tricks to making those pumps work properly.in line valve for flow rate etc.? Landuse I only have a 212cc predator engine.w gx 200 carberator and k and n type filter, with a regular clutch on engine, and ans header .it runs suprisingly quick for its weight.im gonna get an aluminum fly wheel, add 18 lb springs and remove the governor after its broke in.maybe a set of gx 160 heads to increase compression.who knows.hay any tips on flywheels and engine modifications for 212cc predator would be useful.Thx

Landuse I have a 64 tooth split racing sprocket and as far as the tooth count on the clutch.I don't even know.I guess you can use different set ups for that but im on the low end of the learning curve with those set ups.any info would be appreciated.im looking for low end torque to get too top speed quickly.hopefully i can get her up to 45 or 50 mph.w lots of torque is my goal.

Those pulse pumps usually work just fine on clones without any additions. Although I've got a large-round Mikuni pulse pump on a much older 10hp Honda kart engine that developed more fuel pressure than the carbs needle and seat valve could handle. This caused flooding issues and I had to instal a return line back to the tank to bleed off the excessive/unneeded fuel pressure.

Awesome.I was gonna get a mikuni round but opted for the square.thanks for the info.when indexing plugs.is the plug tip supposed to point toward the exhaust valve right?does it make a difference?

Ok.so I was looking at agk's performance tips.and I cut every other fin off the plastic fan blade that sits in front of the flywheel.it seems that I've lost a little top speed.but the throttle seems to be smoother at top speed..im getting an aluminum flywheel with fins on it.will that eliminate the need for the factory plastic fan?

Unfortunately I cannot help with the flywheel questions you have. Some of the others will weigh in soon and help you out.

Yep, and Indexing towards the exhaust valve seems to be the most common method. You might notice a very slight performance gain.

Have you checked out any of the kart racer forums?
If not I'd suggest these 2 for lots of good performance info:
