Bought a streaker fun kart frame to fix up and have some fun with and maybe sell and make a few bucks. It was it pretty terrible shape. It was obviously sitting outside for a while. The engine had leaked oily gunk all over the engine mount area.

I need to take more pictures. So far I have cleaned up and sanded the frame. Salvaged two rims and two tires, sanded the rims and painted them with Rustoleum Gloss black. Painted the frame with Rustoleum Safety Red.

The only thing I don't want to touch is the rear axle. Whoever owned it before welded the sprocket to the axle. Its a live axle, so it will still work as is. But they pretty much ruined the axle in doing so. If I ever have to replace the sprocket, I will be in for a large expense I would think. It's kind of hard to find anything about it.

So I have a few questions for those that actually read this lol. About how much do axle kits cost? I have streaker two seater.

Were is the best place to get a couple of tires and wheels without breaking the bank? The hubs I have are in good shape. Just need some rims and wheels to bolt to them.

P.S. I've only ridden a kart for a few minutes of my life, and it was single wheel driven, I'm hoping when I get this thing going, that it has better traction with the live axle.

Tires, ebay, or you can get rim/tire assembly (front assemblies are cheap) from clearance on bmikarts.com (you will need to put in a spacer on the spindle if you buy this assembly as it replaces the hub assembly)

I have a streaker kart as well. For the most part it has standard stuff not specific to the model/brand (brakes, axle, sprocket, bearings)

For the front rims if you decide to keep the hub (split rims?) you will need to measure the distance between the hub bolts when choosing the split rim.

For brakes, you have a brake drum, so just measure the outside diameter of the drum and buy a brake band that fits it.

Axles are usually $30-$80, sprockets ~$30, everything else you can pull off the old axle.
