I have bought a Birel go kart with a predator 212 engine. After getting stage 2 kit installed and a Mikuni carb and bracket welded to support exhaust. Mounting the motor I noticed the chain is to tight to fit where the motor is now. Can the motor be moved back toward the axle so the chain fits?

YES! That is the rudimentary way that the chain is adjusted on basically every kart in existence. As the chain wears-in it gets looser, so you may have to slide the engine farther away from the sprocket. It's a hell of a lot easier than moving the axle!

Bottom of kart

Guess you'll be turning the kart over every time you want to adjust the chain. No biggie but you're on the wrong side of the frame to be checking chain tension. The yard karts/fun karts and the 1960s racers have you beat on that.

I have a silly question does the governor need to be removed from predator 212 cc motor even if its been disengaged?
